This house was made entirely of ceramic, the architect of this building is unknown and the date it was made is also unknown.

This house looks very comfy, safe and very ideal for a family.

City of Anarchy

The city of Anarchy was the most populated place in the 20th century, where each room was 6 US  dollars. This building was owned by no one in Hong Kong.  This building had no laws, drug, dealers, pimps and prostitutes . It was a horribly maintained building, residence had to walk with umbrellas in the narrow halls of the building to avoid getting water on them from the leaking pipes.

My opinion:

I find this building very fascinating, no one owns the building but so many people live in there. The people living in the building ranged from families to prostitutes. I believe that this building would have been an acceptable building if there was laws in forced on it making it safe for families to live.

Roof Type and Parts

1. Mansard Roof. This type of roof is made up of four slopes, two on each side of the building . The lower slope is more vertical and steeper than the upper slope. The upper  may not been seen from the ground. This type of roof  gives additional living space or storage for the top of the house.

2.Gambrel. This type of roof is fairly similar to Mansard Roof, the basic difference is Gambrel has vertical gable ends and the roof hangs  over the facade of the house

3. Hip Roof.  All four sides of the roof meet at a flat spot or ridge

4. Cross Gabled Roof.  This type of roof  looks  like triangles from the front of the home

5.  Shed Roof. A shed roof pitches up longer on one side than the other.

6. Butterfly Roof A type of roof , which pitches from either side toward the center

7. Intersecting Roof. This type of roof is for irregular shaped buildings

1. Create scenes to build the “skeleton” of your animation.
2. To change the animation settings in the Model Info dialog box,  Window – Model Info – select the Animation panel.
3. Select the Enable Scene Transitions check box to move smoothly from one scene to another scene
4. Enter a transition time for the amount of time you want spent moving between scenes
5. Enter a scene delay time to pause at each scene before moving on to the next one
6. Adjust the proportions of your modeling window to approximate the proportions of your movie

Habitat 67

Habitat 67, is a model community and housing complex in Montreal, Canada, designed by Israeli–Canadian architect Moshe Safdie. It was originally designed as his master’s thesis in architecture at McGill University.  It is located at 2600 Avenue Pierre-Dupuy on the Marc-Drouin Quay next to the Saint Lawrence River. Habitat 67 is widely considered an architectural landmark and recognizable buildings in both Montreal. There are units create 146 residences of varying sizes, each unit is connected to at least one terrace, which sizes can range from approximately 225 to 1,000 square feet.

I think think Habitat 67 is a very creative and interesting place to live. Although the design was completely original and different I do not think that is it a ideal for living, this is because I believe the building looks very cluttered and close together. If this building was built for an art museum full of modern are, it would be more ideal.

Blueprint Reading

 Blueprints are 2-dimensional architectural design drawings that indicate the size of a planned building, the materials  required for construction and location of objects and rooms. Architects and engineers use blueprint to communicate to the construction team on how the building needs to be built.

Steps

1. Learn the 3 main types of blueprints: plan, elevation and section. All three types show 2D views of the project

• A plan blue print is a horizontal view of the building project looking down from a birds eyed view.
• An elevation a vertical displace of one side of the building.
• A section view is a cut-through display showing how wall or section of the building be built

2. Know the scale of the blueprint- The two types of scales are architectural scale or engineering scale

3.Understand the symbols used to represent parts of a building project

Job description

Drafting technologists and technicians prepare and make designs, drawings and technical information in engineering teams or for an engineers, architects or industrial designers or they may be self-employed.  Drafting technologists and technicians are hired by  consulting and construction companies, utility and  resource and manufacturing companies.

Employment requirements

• Completion of secondary school

• Completion of a two- to three-year college program in engineering design and drafting technology or in a related field

• Completion of a one- to two-year college program in drafting
  or
  Completion of a three- to four-year apprenticeship program
  or
  Four to five years of related experience plus completion of college or industry courses in drafting are usually required for drafting technicians.

• Trade certification for drafts persons is available, but voluntary in Ontario.

• Certification in engineering design and drafting technology or in a related field through provincial associations of engineering/applied science technologists and technicians may be required by employers.

• A period of supervised work experience, usually two years, is required before certification.
